Manama: 30 days remain until the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) hosts the thrilling Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain, marking the eighth and final round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) on 7 and 8 November. Motorsport enthusiasts are encouraged to secure their tickets early to enjoy a weekend filled with racing excitement and family-friendly entertainment.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the FIA World Endurance Championship is the second largest event organized by the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), following Formula 1. The 8 Hours of Bahrain race will bring the spirit of Le Mans to Sakhir, featuring top international motorsport talent and some of the fastest, most technologically advanced vehicles from leading global manufacturers.
The championship is celebrated for its high-performance endurance racing, consisting of two primary categories: Hypercar and LMGT3. More than 35 teams are anticipated to participate, offering a unique experience for motorsport aficionados. Notable racing personalities such as former Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button, along with Mick Schumacher, Kevin Magnussen, Antonio Giovinazzi, S©bastien Buemi, Robert Kubica, and Kamui Kobayashi, are expected to compete.
This year's Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain will be the 14th WEC race held in Sakhir and the seventh under the current eight-hour format, making it the sole race of its length on the world championship schedule. In addition to the endurance race, the BIC will also host the inaugural round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East, adding further excitement to the event.
BIC's entertainment area will offer a variety of family activities and side events off the track. The environmentally conscious Green Ticket Initiative, a collaborative effort between BIC and Bapco Energies, will be in place for the fourth year running. A portion of ticket sales will contribute to the Bahrain Mangrove Initiative, supporting environmental sustainability.
