Manama: The Council of Representatives condemned the Iranian missile attacks targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain and other countries in the region, describing them as a flagrant violation of sovereignty and international law, and a serious threat to regional security and stability.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Council affirmed that such hostile acts cannot be justified under any pretext, stressing the legal right of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the affected states to respond and take all necessary measures to safeguard their sovereignty, security, and stability, in accordance with international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The Council commended the efficiency of air defence systems in Bahrain and the affected states and praised the efforts of state institutions and the armed forces, particularly the Bahrain Defence Force and the Ministry of Interior, for their readiness in protecting the Kingdom and ensuring the safety of citizens and residents.
In its statement, the Council expressed appreciation for the solidarity shown by regional and international partners in support of Bahrain and the measures it has undertaken. It urged the public to adhere to official instructions, exercise caution, avoid circulating rumours or inaccurate information, and rely solely on official sources.
The Council also called on the Inter-Parliamentary Union and parliamentary organisations worldwide to condemn the attacks and take firm and decisive positions to halt such hostile actions, which undermine regional security and stability.
