Commemoration Day Ceremony Held Under Patronage of HM King Hamad

Al sakhir palace: Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the Commemoration Day ceremony took place at Al Sakhir Palace. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, was in attendance.

According to Bahrain News Agency, upon His Majesty's arrival, accompanied by mounted police, he was greeted by several high-ranking officials, including Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander in Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force; General His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of the National Guard; and General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior. The ceremony saw the presence of senior officials, military officers, and families of fallen servicemen.

The event commenced with the national anthem and a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. A single artillery salute was fired, followed by a moment of silence, and another artillery salute marked its conclusion. The military band performed the Fallen Servicemen's Salute, with military honours rendered. The Royal Bahraini Air Force's fighter jets performed a flyover as a tribute to the fallen servicemen.

Shaikh Adnan bin Abdulla Al Qattan, President of the Sharia Department at the Cassation Court and Imam of Al Fateh Mosque, delivered a commemorative sermon, noting the significance of Commemoration Day in honouring those who sacrificed their lives for faith, homeland, and human dignity. He offered prayers for Bahrain's fallen servicemen and those who died in similar service elsewhere, expressing hope that their sacrifices would be honoured.

Further prayers were offered for the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Majesty King Hamad, the armed forces, and security personnel, seeking protection and support in their national duties. The ceremony concluded with attendees reciting Al-Fatiha for the fallen servicemen of the Kingdom.

The National Guard Commander then advanced to the front and rendered a salute to His Majesty, followed by the Chief of Royal Protocol seeking permission for His Majesty to water the palm tree, symbolising eternal life. The ceremony concluded with the Royal Anthem.

On this occasion, His Majesty King Hamad delivered a statement emphasising the importance of Commemoration Day as a national occasion to honour those who sacrificed for Bahrain's security, stability, and sovereignty. He paid tribute to the courage, loyalty, and patriotism of the fallen servicemen, highlighting their sacrifice as a source of pride and inspiration. His Majesty commended the dedication of Bahrain's armed forces and security institutions and thanked the families of the fallen servicemen for their patriotism.

His Majesty concluded by praising the unity of Bahrain's citizens in honouring the fallen servicemen and supporting their families, underscoring the values of unity and national pride. Prayers were offered for the fallen servicemen and their counterparts in neighbouring countries, with wishes for Bahrain's continued security, prosperity, and progress.
