Manama: Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), received Isa Al Shaiji, President of the Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) and the Editor-in-Chief of Al Ayam newspaper; Zuhair Tawfiqi, Editor-in-Chief of Al Bilad newspaper; and Rashid Al Hamer, Editor-in-Chief of Al Ayam. Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, Minister of Defence Affairs, and Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Advisor for Financial and Technical Affairs at the BDF General Command, were present.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Commander-in-Chief highlighted the development of Bahraini journalism and its longstanding role in the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister.
Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed underscored the importance of national media in documenting and highlighting the achievements of the BDF and its national role, commending the professionalism of Bahraini journalists and their contribution to strengthening national awareness through responsible and objective reporting.
The Commander-in-Chief also lauded the efforts of media professionals in upholding national responsibility, noting their role in supporting national interests alongside the armed forces of the Kingdom.
