Coast Guard Concludes Marine Sciences Course for Women Police Personnel

Manama: The Coast Guard held a graduation ceremony for participants in the foundational marine sciences course for women police personnel. The event was attended by Major General Mona Abdulraheem, Director General of Women Police; and Shaikha Mashael bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Organisation.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Director General of Women Police commended the Coast Guard for its role in preparing and conducting the specialised course. The course aimed at equipping participants with the competence and professionalism to respond effectively in various maritime situations. She noted that this initiative aligns with the strategic vision established by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, which focuses on developing human capital and enhancing the readiness of ministry personnel across all specialisations.

On his part, the Acting Commander of the Coast Guard emphasised the importance of empowering women in the field of maritime security. He described it as a key pillar in enhancing and modernising law enforcement capabilities at sea and along the coasts. He noted that such training contributes directly to improving performance and achieving higher levels of preparedness and response.

The course included participants from the Special Security Force, the Royal Police Academy, the Southern Governorate Police Directorate, and the Ports Police.
