Coalition Reaffirms Support for Yemeni Government Against Houthi Militia

Riyadh:Major General Turki Al Malki, the Official Spokesperson of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, has reiterated the coalition's ongoing commitment to support the Yemeni Armed Forces and the legitimate Yemeni government. The coalition aims to end the Houthi coup, restore the state's national institutions, and secure Yemen's future.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Malki highlighted the continued aggressive actions of the Houthi militia against the Yemeni population. These actions include imposing an internal blockade, forcibly displacing citizens, causing starvation, and appropriating resources for their war efforts. The Houthis have also been accused of abuses against tribal elders, eroding Yemen's social fabric, terrorizing women, and recruiting child soldiers.

Al Malki also discussed the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, including attempts to target Makkah Al Mukarramah and Al Madinah Al Munawwarah. There have been deliberate attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in several Saudi cities, such as Riyadh, Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, Najran, Al Taif, and Yanbu, as well as efforts to target Saudi vessels in the southern Red Sea and Bab Al Mandab Strait.

These ongoing attacks, according to Al Malki, necessitate continued operational measures to deter the hostile actions of the Houthi militia and ensure the protection of regional and international security. He emphasized Saudi Arabia's right to defend its sovereignty and security, which includes taking necessary measures to stop the militia's violations and protect the Two Holy Mosques, Saudi citizens, national assets, and residents in the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia's support for Yemen will continue until the state's institutions are fully restored and the Houthi threat is neutralized. The coalition is also focused on addressing threats to maritime navigation in the southern Red Sea and Bab Al Mandab Strait, which pose risks to regional and international security, freedom of navigation, international trade, and the national interests of countries globally.
