China Intensifies Recovery Efforts in Guangdong After Typhoon Ragasa

Guangdong: Recovery operations are under way in Guangdong Province in southern China after Typhoon Ragasa struck the region on Wednesday before weakening into a tropical depression.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the typhoon caused widespread damage, including uprooted trees, destroyed infrastructure, and power outages. By Thursday evening, provincial authorities lowered the emergency response level to category four, the lowest level.

According to local energy authorities, more than 50,000 personnel and 13,000 vehicles were deployed to carry out repair work, with 90% of electricity supplies restored to affected users by 5 p.m. on Thursday.

On Hailing Island, one of the hardest hit areas, electricity was quickly restored despite continued outages in some districts due to flooding, where specialised teams used drainage robots to accelerate recovery efforts.
