Chief of Staff Participates in Military Strategic Partner Dialogue in Bahrain

Manama: Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqer Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff, participated in the Military Strategic Partner Dialogue, held at the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) on Wednesday, with the participation of chiefs of staff from the armed forces of GCC and neighbouring countries.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Chief of Staff expressed his pleasure at participating in the event, reaffirming the Kingdom of Bahrain's steadfast commitment to fostering constructive engagement with neighbouring countries, allies, and partners to exchange views and strengthen military cooperation through strategic dialogue.

He expressed his sincere appreciation to Admiral Charles Bradford Cooper II, Commander of the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), for his efforts in supporting the strategic military dialogue. He also welcomed the participating chiefs of staff, commending their continued commitment to strengthening cooperation in a manner that serves the security, stability, and prosperity of the region.

At the outset of his address, the Chief of Staff conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the BDF, and his best wishes for the success of the conference.

He underscored the importance of strategic military dialogue in developing shared perspectives and approaches that reinforce regional security and stability. He noted that the region is witnessing rapid developments and profound geopolitical changes following Iran's unlawful and hostile attacks targeting the Kingdom's security, national sovereignty, and civilian infrastructure.

The Chief of Staff added that, given the region's exceptional geopolitical and economic significance to the international community, it is essential to recognise current and future challenges and to formulate comprehensive strategic responses based on a shared vision. He stressed the importance of closer cooperation, greater cohesion, and stronger coordination to address evolving threats effectively.

He affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain will continue to pursue a balanced and proactive political and defence policy founded on strengthening Gulf cooperation and enhancing strategic partnerships with allies and friendly countries in a manner that serves shared interests and common aspirations.
