Manama: Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security and Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Royal Police Academy, chaired a meeting of the council, which was attended by Major General Dr. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Public Security; Major General Fawaz Hassan Al Hassan, Commander of the Royal Police Academy; and other council members.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Chief of Public Security highlighted the pivotal role of the Scientific Council in advancing security education. He emphasized that this aligns with the vision of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Interior Minister, to enhance academic outputs and develop skilled national personnel. He commended the academy's efforts in delivering advanced postgraduate programs that equip graduates with the knowledge and competencies required for modern policing.
He further emphasized that such meetings are key to reviewing and updating academic curricula to keep pace with developments in the fields of security and policing sciences, thereby strengthening operational excellence and future preparedness.
The meeting reviewed preparations for upcoming graduation ceremonies, including an event organized in cooperation with the University of Huddersfield to celebrate the graduation of 51 students from the Master's programs in Human Rights and Criminal Justice, and Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics.
Preparations were also discussed for a separate ceremony marking the graduation of 158 students from the academy's postgraduate programs, including Master's degrees in Administrative and Security Sciences, Criminal and Police Sciences, and Crisis Management.
The meeting also discussed topics related to enhancing academic and research curricula, with a focus on building the capabilities of security institutions by investing in academically and professionally qualified personnel.
