Chief of Public Security chairs Interior Ministry’s delegation at GCC meeting

Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, has chaired the delegation of the Interior Ministry in the online meeting of the GCC Ministerial Anti-Corruption Committee. The heads of anti-corruption authorities attended the meeting.

 

The Chief conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. He valued the role of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council in achieving the joint goals. He asserted the integrated ties for national efforts and procedures and regional and international cooperation as the primary foundation for fighting corruption based on the United Nations Convention Against Corruption.

 

He said that reinforcing the capabilities of the workforces in supervision and regional and international cooperation represents a turning point in overcoming challenges facing the efforts against corruption. He highlighted the importance of awareness in promoting transparency and integrity, expressing confidence in overcoming hindrances facing joint operations.

 

The Chief said that the approval of the guidelines set related to the protection of those who file cases, witnesses, experts, and victims, along with the exchange of legal assistance and the use of technology, would support the efforts of member countries in promoting integrity and fighting corruption. He thanked the committee of undersecretaries and assistant undersecretaries for their preparations for the meeting and for reinforcing the capabilities of the ministerial committee. He valued the efforts of the specialists in studying the guidelines.

 

The delegation of the Interior Ministry included the General Director of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security, Brigadier Bassam Al Miraj and some officers.
