Car Recovery Team Prepares for Bahrain F1 Grand Prix

Manama: The Bahrain Motor Federation (BMF) is finalising preparations to host the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025, set to take place from April 11-13 at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), 'The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East'. The car recovery team is a key part of the safety system supporting the international event.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the team, which operates under the BMF's emergency unit, is responsible for promptly and safely removing disabled cars from the track while maintaining the highest safety standards for both team members and race participants.

Abdul Jalil Ramadhan, Team Leader, said preparations for the event began last November with the support of the BMF, the Motorsport Marshals Club, and BIC. He noted that the team underwent intensive training to handle all car types in the championship, including F1, F2, F3, and Porsche.

The team consists of 105 trained volunteers and uses 31 recovery vehicles and eight 4x4s to manage emergencies. Operations run continuously with precise coordination, where every second counts in ensuring safety.

This year, the team integrated advanced communication technology to improve response speed and coordination. They also conducted drills simulating real race incidents, demonstrating high efficiency in emergency handling.

Ahmed Abdulla, Trainer and Deputy Team Leader, expressed pride in the team's state of readiness, highlighting that ongoing training is the foundation of their performance. He added that the team works behind the scenes to protect lives and ensure the race continues in a safe environment.

He thanked Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Motor Federation, and Director General Abdulaziz Al Duwadi for their continuous support, as well as Bahrain International Circuit for its cooperation.

The car recovery team is one of the essential elements of the Grand Prix's organisational success, operating with professionalism to ensure driver safety and emphasising the Kingdom of Bahrain's excellence in hosting major international sporting events.
