Manama: Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Governor of the Capital Governorate, received Chen Weiqiang, Deputy Mayor of Hangzhou in the People's Republic of China. The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for cooperation and means to strengthen ties between the two regions.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman emphasized the Capital Governorate's commitment to fostering relationships with major global cities and enhancing cultural, economic, and developmental engagement. He articulated the Governorate's vision to expand international partnerships and exchange expertise to support sustainable development, while also commending the continuous growth in relations between Bahrain and China.
The delegation from Hangzhou was informed about significant projects and initiatives undertaken by the Capital Governorate. These efforts aim to improve the quality of life for citizens and residents, aligning with the Governorate's vision of ensuring a better life and sustainable development.
This visit is part of the friendly cooperation agreement signed in 2018 between the Capital Governorate and the city of Hangzhou. The agreement's goal is to develop partnerships in various public service sectors and enhance cooperation in technology, training, and exchange visits.
Deputy Mayor Weiqiang praised Bahrain's urban development efforts and highlighted China's interest in further strengthening cooperation with the Capital Governorate.
