Cairo, Casablanca, and Chennai Added to Gulf Air’s Temporary Dammam Operations

Dammam: Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced the inclusion of Cairo, Casablanca, and Chennai to its temporary commercial network operating via King Fahad International Airport in Dammam. This expansion is part of the airline's strategy to maintain international connectivity amid the temporary closure of Bahrain's airspace.

According to Bahrain News Agency, these new destinations will be part of the airline's existing temporary routes from Dammam, which currently include London Heathrow, Mumbai, Bangkok, Frankfurt, and Nairobi. The temporary operations are set to continue until March 28, 2026. This initiative underscores Gulf Air's commitment to ensuring that passengers can continue to travel internationally despite the airspace restrictions affecting Bahrain.

To support these operations, Gulf Air will offer transportation between Bahrain and King Fahad International Airport in Dammam for passengers with confirmed bookings. The airline will also assist passengers traveling to and from Bahrain in obtaining Saudi transit visas, provided they use the land transportation arranged by Gulf Air. However, passengers whose final destination is within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will need to secure their own visas.

Travelers can book flights through Gulf Air's official website or mobile application. The airline has issued a reminder for passengers to ensure they have confirmed bookings before proceeding to the airport. Gulf Air's flights to and from Bahrain International Airport remain on hold and will resume once the Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs authorizes the reopening of the airspace.
