Cabinet approves recognition bylaw of Non-Jordanian higher education institutions

A Cabinet session held Sunday, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh, approved Recognition and Certificates Equivalency Bylaw of Non-Jordanian Higher Education Institutions for 2023. The system aims to regulate provisions related to the formation of university certificate recognition and equivalency committees, define their respective tasks and powers and to allow submitting an equivalency application for non-Jordanian certificates on website of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The regulation also seeks to open the door to file objection to the decisions of equivalency committee in a one-off manner and give the committee the power to examine objections for its decisions. Additionally, Council of Ministers approved formation of West Irbid Municipal Court for 2023, driven by West Irbid municipality’s need to launch a municipal tribunal to litigate crimes committed within its boundaries, aimed to protecting the municipality’s funds and assets. On the other hand, the Cabinet decided to retire Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Najwa Al-Qubailat.
