BTEA launches tourism App

Manama, The Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has announced the launch of its revamped tourism app which is aimed at helping tourists, citizens and residents plan their tours and activities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

BTEA named the new guide “Bahrain” and launched it under the slogan “Your Ultimate Guide to Explore Bahrain”. It can be downloaded easily from Google Play or the App Store.

This launch is part of BTEA’s efforts to ensure that Bahrain’s events calendar and diverse tourism offerings are available for everyone to enjoy.

The app features renowned tourism destinations, displays entertainment on offer, as well as listing restaurants and hotels.

In addition to providing up-to-date information on Bahrain’s tourism scene, the app includes a directory of restaurants, hotels and places of interest.

The app also has an itinerary feature that helps tourists organise their holiday programme around on their interests.

Furthermore, the app provides a platform for licensed Bahraini tour guides as it comes with a feature that allows tourists to contact tour guides and highlights their profiles.

“This app is one of the key tools that BTEA has developed to encourage an increasing number of tourists to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain. It highlights sites of interest as well as entertainment activities.

The timing of the app launch is significant as we enter what we anticipate to be a busy tourist season, driven by a variety of events such as the debut of Exhibition World Bahrain, the Jewellery Arabia exhibition, the Bahrain Grand Prix, the Air Show, amongst many others.” Noted Dr Nasser Qaedi, CEO of BTEA.

Dr Qaedi stated that this new app is the result of extensive work undertaken by one of the authority’s specialised teams who aimed to create an app that is as easy to use, providing maximum potential value to the user.

He also emphasised the authority’s commitment to continue the app’s improvement by introducing new features and content.

“We encourage the private sector and event organizers to work more closely with BTEA in order to incorporate information and updates on activities and initiatives on the app. Our aim is for the app to become a fully integrated national tourism platform.” Dr Qaedi concluded.
