BTEA CEO Visits Bahrain Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka

Osaka: Sara Ahmed Buhiji, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), visited the Kingdom of Bahrain's national pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. During her visit, Buhiji emphasized the pavilion's role in showcasing Bahrain's unique tourism attractions, focusing on its rich history and maritime heritage. The pavilion also highlights new projects aimed at balancing tourism development with economic growth, environmental protection, and the preservation of cultural and historical heritage.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Buhiji pointed out that the national pavilion's emphasis on the sea supports the 2022-2026 Tourism Strategy, which aims to develop waterfront tourism and water activities. This strategy seeks to leverage Bahrain's unique position as the only archipelagic country in the Middle East, thereby enhancing its global tourism presence.

Buhiji expressed the Authority's goal to build effective partnerships during the Expo to promote Bahraini culture as a significant tourism attraction. She also highlighted the development of conference and business tourism, facilitated by the Exhibition World Bahrain Centre (EWB), known for its modern facilities. The Kingdom's excellence in sports tourism was also underlined, with Bahrain organizing and hosting major international sporting events.

Buhiji added that the Bahrain pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025 will allow visitors over a six-month period to experience the unique qualities of the Bahraini people, who act as cultural ambassadors. Volunteers at the pavilion will play a crucial role in showcasing Bahraini culture and its openness to the world.
