Manama: The Board of Directors of the Bahrain Space Agency (BSA) held its regular meeting for the third quarter of this year, chaired by Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Jaber Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Advisor and Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council. The meeting was attended by board members and the CEO of the BSA.
According to Bahrain News Agency, at the start of the meeting, the Chairman and board members congratulated the executive management on relocating the agency to its new headquarters. They commended the efforts of the agency's executive management and staff to advance Bahrain's space sector regionally and internationally. They highlighted that these efforts align with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and reflect the aspirations of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, under the supervision of Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander, and Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council.
The board reviewed key updates on the agency's projects, discussed progress on strategic priorities for the current period, and followed up on initiatives related to building national capabilities, enhancing international partnerships, and raising public awareness of the importance of the space sector. The board also examined progress on the agency's 2024-2028 strategic plan and reviewed future directions to consolidate Bahrain's position in this growing sector.
The Chairman commended the achievements made so far and called for intensified efforts to build on these qualitative results, advancing the Kingdom's presence in the space sector both regionally and internationally.
