BOU HABIB ARRIVES AT BEIRUT AIRPORT TO RECEIVE PAROLIN

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdallah Bou Habib, arrived a while ago at the VIP building at Beirut International Airport, where he will receive the Vatican’s Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who is visiting Lebanon for the first time.

Following the official reception at the airport and a short closed meeting with Foreign Minister Bou Habib, Cardinal Parolin gave a brief statement at the airport, saying:

“Good evening everyone…It is a pleasure for me to be here in Lebanon…I will stay in this beautiful country for a few days. I thank the government and all concerned for their warm welcome…I came here following an invitation extended to me to have a look at the works and activities of the Knights of Malta. This is the reason for my presence here…Surely, there is great concern in terms of politics in Lebanon and the economic crisis that affects the poor, namely the political crisis, the institutional crisis, and the problem of electing the president…We will try as much as pos
sible to help and move forward in this direction…We may not succeed, but I hope at least to help in some way.’
