BOC Signs Sports Cooperation Agreements with Indonesian and Iranian Olympic Committees

Manama: The Bahrain Olympic Committee has entered into two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on sports cooperation with the Indonesian Olympic Committee and the Iranian Olympic Committee during the 3rd Asian Youth Games.

According to Bahrain News Agency, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who serves as the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, signed the agreements on behalf of Bahrain. The signatories for Indonesia and Iran were Raja Sapta Oktohari and Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, respectively.

The signing ceremony was attended by key figures including His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, BOC Vice President, Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, GSA CEO, and Faris Al Kooheji, BOC Secretary General. The MoUs are aimed at fostering collaboration in areas such as sports development, coaching, and administration. Additionally, the agreements seek to facilitate joint training camps and knowledge exchange programs to bolster the growth of athletes and national teams in all three countries.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad emphasized that these agreements are a testament to Bahrain's ongoing commitment to building robust international sports partnerships, as guided by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Moreover, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad praised the vision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who is the Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports. He noted that these agreements are pivotal in advancing Bahrain's sports diplomacy and enhancing its influence in regional and global sports.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad further pointed out that these MoUs signify Bahrain's emerging role as a hub for sports collaboration in Asia, reaffirming its dedication to supporting the Olympic movement and fostering partnerships that align with the objectives of the Olympic Council of Asia.
