Tashkent: The Bahraini Olympic Committee (BOC) participated in the 46th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in Tashkent. The delegation included His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the BOC; Fares Mustafa Al Kooheji, BOC Secretary General; Board member Ishaq Ibrahim Ishaq; Fajer Jassim, Board member and Director of International and Arab Relations; and Ahmed Abdulghafar, Executive Director of Operations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting ratified the election of Shaikh Joaan bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, as President of the Olympic Council of Asia. Asian delegations met with His Excellency Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who welcomed participants and commended the OCA's role in advancing sports across Asia.
During the assembly, Hafizullah Wali Rahimi, President of the National Olympic Committee of Afghanistan, was awarded the OCA Order of Merit. Host city agreements were also signed for the 4th Asian Youth Games (Tashkent 2029) and the Asian Youth Games (Cambodia 2031).
The assembly approved the minutes of the previous meeting, reviewed reports from vice presidents representing West, East, Southeast, South, and Central Asia, and received a report from Witold Banka, President of the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA). The meeting also covered final reports on past Asian Games, organising committee reports for upcoming games, and the latest updates from the Olympic Solidarity (OS).
