Board of Trustees of Institute of Political Development Holds First 2026 Meeting

Manama: The Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) convened for their first regular meeting of 2026, with Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi presiding over the session to discuss past achievements and upcoming plans.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the board expressed its approval of Royal Order (13) of 2026, enacted by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which extends the sixth legislative term by an additional year. This extension is seen as a supportive move for the parliamentary and legislative efforts within the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting also focused on initiatives to boost political awareness through various training and outreach programs. The board lauded the activities aligned with the "Year of Isa Al Kabeer" and the "National Pathways" program, which aims to nurture national talent and competencies.

Furthermore, the board evaluated the activities conducted in the first quarter, including training courses, workshops, and lectures designed to enhance political awareness and encourage community involvement.
