Abu dhabi: The Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) extended its gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for His Majesty's congratulations on the election of the Association's new Chairman and Board of Directors. Chairman Isa Al Shaiji affirmed that His Majesty's commendation of the Association's achievements motivates Bahrain's press to advance journalism and develop highly qualified professionals capable of responding to global media developments.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Shaiji noted that Bahraini journalism is thriving under His Majesty's leadership, supported by legislation that guarantees freedom of expression and enables the press to carry out its role with confidence. He added that the approval of the draft Press and Publications Law by the Council of Representatives reflects His Majesty's vision for a modern and enlightened legal framework that recognises the press's longstanding role and national responsibilities.
Marking the Association's Silver Jubilee this year, Al Shaiji affirmed that its establishment was one of the outcomes of the democratic path initiated by His Majesty the King, who has consistently extended his patronage and support to the Association.
