Biden Pledges Peaceful Power Transition to President-Elect Trump.

Washington: President Joe Biden confirmed that the United States will witness a peaceful transfer of power on January 20, the date of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. In an address to the nation at the White House on Wednesday, Biden said he spoke with the President-elect to congratulate him on his victory and assured him that he would direct his entire administration to work with Trump’s team to ensure a peaceful and orderly transition.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Biden’s comments followed the concession of the election by Democratic contender and Vice President Kamala Harris to Trump. Biden emphasized his commitment to fulfilling his oath and respecting the Constitution, reiterating that a peaceful transfer of power would occur in America on January 20.

Biden noted that he had spoken with Harris and honored her for her campaign efforts. He commended her character, mentioning that it was something he learned early on to respect. He stated, “We accept the choice the country has made,” highl
ighting that true patriotism involves loving the country and its people, regardless of the election outcome.

Biden expressed his desire for unity among American citizens, urging them to set aside political differences. He emphasized the integrity of the American electoral system, stating that the elections are fair, just, transparent, and trustworthy.

The President expressed gratitude to his team and supporters, emphasizing the progress made during his term. He noted that there were 74 days remaining in his term and urged everyone to make every day count. Biden also invited Trump to the White House to discuss the transition of power, an invitation the president-elect’s campaign accepted.

The elections saw intense competition between Trump and Harris, with Trump securing victory through results in key swing states, ultimately deciding the presidency.
