Manama: Le Mans Endurance Management has announced that the 2026 WEC Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain will not be held, following detailed discussions among all parties involved in light of the current situation in the Middle East. According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive of the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), stated that over recent weeks, the circuit had been in close coordination with its colleagues at the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and other stakeholders. He expressed disappointment at not hosting the pinnacle of world endurance racing in 2026, but affirmed support for the decision as being in the best interests of all parties involved. He thanked the WEC community for its support and said the Bahrain International Circuit looked forward to welcoming the return of the series next year, along with fans from around the world. Customers who have bought tickets or hospitality for the 2026 WEC Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain will receive a full r efund.
