Sakhir: Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), 'The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East,' and Musco, a global leader in sports and infrastructure lighting, have announced a new agreement to provide young people in Bahrain with the chance to explore and learn more about racing. According to Bahrain News Agency, the agreement will see the launch of The Musco Young Driver Development Programme at the Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC). This initiative is designed to offer driver training to young people who might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate at the world-class grassroots motorsport facility. The agreement was formalized in a signing ceremony at the BIC premises in Sakhir. Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, BIC Chief Executive, and Jeff Rogers, CEO of Musco Lighting, signed the agreement in the presence of senior management from both organizations. Jeff Rogers expressed the long-standing collaboration between Musco and BIC, stating that Musco has been involved in lighting projects at BIC since 2004. He emphasized the partnership's goal to support Shaikh Salman's vision of providing every young person with the chance to experience karting and the life lessons it offers. Shaikh Salman bin Isa highlighted the shared commitment between BIC and Musco to give back to the community. He underscored the importance of using the power of sport for the betterment of communities, noting that this shared passion is the cornerstone of the new programme. The Musco Young Driver Development Programme will feature an entry-level programme for Bahraini youth, with plans to introduce intermediate and advanced programmes later. The final stage will include a fully-paid entry for selected drivers into The Bahrain Rotax Max Challenge, Bahrain's leading competitive karting championship. As part of the sponsorship agreement, Musco becomes The Preferred Lighting Supplier at BIC. Musco has been integral to BIC since its inception, having provided lighting infrastructure during the initial construction in 2004, and installing state-of-the-art track lighting in 2014, establishing Bahrain as a landmark venue for night racing.
