Manama: Beyon announced it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AECOM for the master planning of its Digital City project, unveiled during the Gateway Gulf Investment Forum. The signing of the MoU between Beyon and AECOM took place at the event, with officials from both companies present, including Faisal Al Jalahma, the Chairman of the Digital City Development Company (a wholly owned subsidiary of Beyon); Andrew Kvalseth, the CEO of Beyon; and David Border, the Director - Head of Project and Cost Management at AECOM. According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Jalahma expressed satisfaction with the development, stating it as a significant step toward the successful implementation of Beyon's Digital City. He highlighted the importance of collaborating with AECOM for the project's master planning, emphasizing a forward-thinking approach to urban living through technology and community-focused design. David Border from AECOM remarked on the opportunity to contribute to a project that aims to set a new standard for digitized, sustainable living, integrating design, lifestyle, and technology. Beyon's Digital City aligns with the organization's strategic goals to enhance digital connectivity and improve lives. The project aims to integrate connectivity, technology, and real estate, setting a new standard for mixed-use developments in Bahrain. It caters to advanced digital lifestyles while adhering to international smart city standards. The project also emphasizes sustainability, with plans for LEED certification, renewable energy utilization, and efficient resource management practices.
