Muscat: Ambassador Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the World Trade Organisation (WTO), took part in the 13th China Round Table on WTO Accessions. The event, which spanned from May 12 to 14, 2025, was hosted by the Sultanate of Oman at the Diplomatic Club in Muscat. It was held under the patronage of Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion of Oman.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the round table's theme was "Advancing Arab Economies: From Strategic Accession to Global Trade Integration". It featured participation from ambassadors and representatives of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, senior officials, and representatives of governments and international organisations. The event's objective was to facilitate the exchange of experiences and to enhance dialogue on WTO accession and regional economic integration.
In his address, the Permanent Representative underscored the significant role of the WTO in supporting economic reform efforts and promoting the integration of countries into the multilateral trading system. He also emphasized Bahrain's commitment to supporting ongoing accession efforts and strengthening regional cooperation in this domain.
