Bahrain’s Strategic Engagements and Defence Initiatives Highlighted in Recent Events

Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today highlighted several significant local events that unfolded over the past 24 hours. Among these, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received cables affirming loyalty and support from Bahraini families, underscoring the strong ties between the monarchy and its citizens.

According to Bahrain News Agency, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada. This meeting was part of the strategic dialogue initiatives, as HRH also received heads of delegations for the 167th Meeting of the GCC Ministerial Council and the third Gulf-Canada Joint Ministerial Meeting. The engagement signifies Bahrain's active role in fostering international diplomatic relations.

Further, the Bahrain Defence Force General Command reported the successful interception of missiles and drones by their air defence systems. This development highlights Bahrain's ongoing commitment to national security and defence readiness.

In the realm of development and infrastructure, the Deputy Prime Minister chaired the 306th Ministerial Committee meeting, focusing on crucial development projects. Meanwhile, the Industry Minister inaugurated the Bahrain-Hungary Industrial Partnership Forum, marking a step forward in international industrial collaboration.

Simultaneously, the National Guard Commander engaged in meetings with the Chief of Army Staff and the Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence of Pakistan, reflecting military and strategic cooperation between Bahrain and Pakistan.

In addition to these events, the Foreign Minister chaired the GCC-Canada Strategic Dialogue ministerial meeting, emphasizing the importance of strategic dialogues with international partners. The Foreign Minister also held discussions with ambassadors and representatives from Japan, the United States, and the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Middle East.
