Geneva: Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, the Kingdom of Bahrain's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, stated that the UN General Assembly's adoption of January 28 as the International Day for Peaceful Coexistence reflects Bahrain's leadership in promoting dialogue and peaceful coexistence. This initiative was spearheaded by the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Abdulla emphasized the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in advancing tolerance, openness, and the rejection of hatred and extremism. This initiative contributes significantly to enhancing Bahrain's global role in fostering cooperation and peaceful coexistence among different religions and cultures.
