Kuwait city: The National Cybersecurity Centre (NCSC) has won first place in the Best Educational Digital Game category at the GCC Digital Government Award, held in Kuwait in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The NCSC earned the award for its interactive educational project, the "Cyber Guardian" game, which aims to raise cybersecurity awareness, strengthen digital safety culture, and address growing online challenges through an innovative, engaging experience designed for young audiences.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chief Executive of the National Cybersecurity Centre, expressed pride in this Gulf-level achievement, which reflects Bahrain's advancement in digital security and national innovation. He emphasized that the recognition comes as a result of the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the directives and close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to strengthen Bahrain's cybersecurity infrastructure and ensure a safe and reliable digital environment.
Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed noted that the award for Cyber Guardian highlights the Centre's commitment to developing innovative educational tools that keep pace with rapid technological advancements and enhance cybersecurity culture, particularly among youth. He also congratulated Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), on the authority's achievements at the GCC Digital Government Award, including first place for the National eParticipation Platform and a Recognition Award for the MyGov app. He commended the integrated national efforts among government entities to advance Bahrain's digital transformation and reinforce its position on the digital landscape.
Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed emphasized that the GCC Digital Government Award represents a platform for recognizing innovative initiatives, promoting competition, and sharing best practices in digital transformation. He added that the National Cybersecurity Centre will continue adopting advanced technological solutions and developing initiatives that support Bahrain's digital objectives and enhance cyber awareness and protection nationwide.
