Manama: MP Ahmed Abdulwahed Qarata, the Second Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives and representative of the Executive Committee of Bahrain in the Arab Parliament, has been elected by the Arab Parliament as Coordinator of the Finance Committee tasked with reviewing the Parliament's budget.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the committee is responsible for reviewing the Arab Parliament's budget, evaluating the possibility of transferring funds to a country with economic stability for better management, and rethinking the current budget preparation method to improve spending efficiency and enhance the use of the Union's financial resources.
MP Qarata presented a report from the parliamentary division on developing the Arab Parliament's budget, outlining key mechanisms, data, and templates, and comparing the main materials governing the parliament's budgetary work.
The committee approved the proposed concepts and templates, which will be presented at the thirty-seventh extraordinary session of the Executive Committee of the Arab Parliament. A financial and legal working group will be formed to create a reform plan, leading up to a meeting of Arab parliament speakers to approve the new working mechanisms.
