Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today highlighted significant events, notably the celebrations marking the 58th anniversary of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF). HM King ratified and issued Laws (5) and (6) of 2026 following approval from the Shura and Representatives Councils. These legislative developments coincided with the national celebration of the BDF's establishment. According to Bahrain News Agency, HM King, along with HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, exchanged congratulations on the BDF's 58th anniversary. The occasion saw similar exchanges between HM King, the Commander-in-Chief, and the National Guard Commander. Members of the Royal Family and senior officials also extended their congratulations to HM King and HRH the Crown Prince. In recognition of the BDF's service, a royal order was issued to promote officers and personnel and award medals and decorations. The celebrations underscored Bahrain's commitment to its armed forces, with HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister receiving congratulations from the Commander-in-Chief of the BDF and the National Guard Commander. The Royal Family members and senior officials also marked this significant occasion with HRH the Crown Prince. In related governmental activities, Deputy Prime Minister chaired the 290th Meeting of the Ministerial Committee, while various ministers and officials engaged in diplomatic and official meetings. The Foreign Minister participated in key discussions with US officials on arms control and nonproliferation, as well as global mineral supply security. Meanwhile, the Finance Minister emphasized Bahrain's efforts to enhance the investment environment during a meeting with the US Ambassador. Other notable events included the launch of a unified judicial inquiries service by the Justice Ministry, a joint field exercise by SCE, Bapco Refining, GPIC, and Alba for oil spill response, and the Council for International Dispute Resolution's efforts to strengthen ties with Singapore i n Riyadh.
