Bahrain’s Envoy to Vatican Presents Credentials to Pope Leo XIV

Vatican city: His Holiness Pope Leo XIV received the credentials of Essam Abdulaziz Al Jassim as Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the State of the Vatican, resident in Paris, during a ceremony in Vatican City. The ambassador conveyed to His Holiness the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the ambassador noted Bahrain's commitment to strengthening relations and cooperation with the Vatican, and to advancing them in ways that support shared interests and promote the values of peace and coexistence. His Holiness Pope Leo XIV relayed his greetings and appreciation to His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He wished the ambassador success in his diplomatic duties to enhance relations and promote the message of peace and goodwill among nations.

As part of the official visit, the ambassador met Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Vatican Secretary of State, and Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organisations. The meetings reviewed the close relations between the two sides.
