Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on events that happened over the past 24 hours. The Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) General Command reported the destruction of 114 missiles and 190 drones since the start of Iranian attacks, showcasing ongoing security measures in the region.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Bahrain played a key role in delivering a statement from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Jordan during the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council. Furthermore, the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) announced exceptional measures for visit visas due to current circumstances. This comes as the Interior Minister offered condolences to the family of a citizen who died following an Iranian attack.
Additionally, the Minister of Foreign Affairs has been actively engaging in diplomatic talks, chairing joint ministerial meetings between GCC Foreign Ministers and their counterparts from Morocco, Egypt, and Jordan. The Minister also held discussions with the Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on Middle East issues.
In the European diplomatic arena, Bahrain's Ambassador to France participated in an emergency meeting of Arab Ambassadors in Paris, while the Ambassador to Italy joined GCC Ambassadors in a meeting with the Italian Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee.
In religious affairs, the Sunni Endowments announced that Eid Al Fitr prayers will be conducted at main mosques at 6:00 am, and not at the traditional Eid prayer grounds. Furthermore, Bahrain's mission to the UN has sent a letter on behalf of the GCC states to the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council President regarding the Iranian attacks. In domestic matters, the NIHR Chairman visited Salmaniya Medical Complex to check on citizens injured in recent incidents.
