Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on events that happened over the past 24 hours. The local press emphasized the commendation by HM King on the Interior Minister’s meeting with residents of Muharraq, marking a significant community engagement.
According to Bahrain News Agency, diplomatic activities were at the forefront, with the Kuwaiti Crown Prince receiving the Bahraini Foreign Minister. Additionally, the Foreign Minister held discussions with several international counterparts, including the UN General Assembly President, the Syrian Foreign Minister and Expatriates, and the German, Singaporean, and Slovenian Foreign Ministers. The Foreign Minister, alongside the Oil Minister, was also present at the UAE Permanent Mission to the UN reception.
In other developments, the Oil Minister engaged with the Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, while discussions on tourism saw the Tourism Minister stressing Bahrain’s progress in tourism to meet sustainability targets. Tourism executives also highlighted Bahrain’s competitiveness in hosting international events and conferences, coinciding with the celebration of World Tourism Day.
Health initiatives were underscored as the Health Minister met with the GCC Health Council Director General, and the Health Undersecretary participated in a UN High-Level Meeting on the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases. Youth and sustainable development were also key topics, with the Youth Minister’s involvement in the World Programme of Action for Youth meeting and the Assistant Undersecretary for Sustainable Development’s participation in a global economic summit.
The Undersecretary for Political Affairs was active on the international stage, attending the OIC ministerial meeting in New York, the CICA Ministerial Council meeting, and holding talks with the UN-ESCWA Executive Secretary and SCO Deputy Secretary General.
Bahrain’s achievements were further recognized as it won the ICAO Council President certificate for excellence in civil aviation security. Additionally, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad met with the Royal Endurance Team following their success at the FEI World Championship.
The Bahrain Paralympic Committee’s participation in the International Paralympic Committee General Assembly in Seoul was noted, alongside commendations of the legacy of the late Mohamed Benassa, founder of the Asilah Cultural Forum. Finally, the REHC opened media permit applications for the 2025-2026 season.
