Baghdad: Bahrain's parliamentary delegation is participating in the meeting of the Permanent Political Committee of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), held in Iraq, on January 11 - 12. The delegation is also attending the fourth meeting of the APA Executive Council.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, Deputy Speaker of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), commended Bahrain's stance, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in supporting international and regional efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, facilitating humanitarian aid delivery to civilians, safeguarding humanitarian law, and safeguard the Palestinian people.
Al Salloom emphasized Bahrain's commitment to ending the Gaza conflict, protecting civilians, and ensuring aid delivery in line with international humanitarian law. He highlighted the importance of regional and international efforts to achieve a two-state solution and an independent Palestinian state.
Al Salloom also called on Asian parliaments to support efforts for a just settlement that brings stability to the conflict-affected region.
