Manama:Sabeeka Khalifa Al Fadhalah, a member of the Shura Council, emphasized Bahrain's commitment to strengthening unified GCC parliamentary action during the 24th meeting of the GCC Parliamentary Coordination and Foreign Relations Committee. Al Fadhalah chaired the Bahraini Parliamentary Division delegation at the virtual meeting, which prepares for the upcoming 20th periodic meeting of the GCC legislative council speakers.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Fadhalah highlighted the importance of moving beyond mere coordination to establish effective institutional partnerships that advance legislative integration and unified parliamentary positions on shared issues. She pointed out that GCC parliamentary diplomacy supports official diplomatic efforts and enhances the Gulf's presence in international forums.
The meeting covered various topics, including the GCC digital economy, cooperation with the European Parliament, and strengthening ties with Latin American and Caribbean parliamentary groups. Al Fadhalah expressed confidence in Saudi Arabia's future leadership of the committee, emphasizing Bahrain's ongoing support for initiatives that benefit GCC countries and their people.
