Manama: The Bahraini parliamentary bloc participated in the executive office meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), held on the sidelines of the Kingdom of Bahrain hosting the Assembly’s Economic and Sustainable Development Committee from September 14-16. The executive office discussed the draft agenda for the Standing Committee on Economic and Sustainable Development, prepared by the Assembly’s Secretariat. The agenda was approved, and the office reviewed the Secretary General’s report on achievements during the previous Assembly session. The draft agenda for the upcoming General Assembly session was also adopted, along with a proposal to determine the number of executive office sessions, the 2026 events calendar, and other new business.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting also covered agendas and draft resolutions from standing committees, including the Political Affairs Committee’s draft on support for Asian parliaments’ steadfast backing of the Palestinian people, the Budget and Planning Committee’s draft on the Assembly’s budget planning, the Social and Cultural Affairs Committee, and the Economic Affairs and Sustainable Development Committee.
The Bahraini parliamentary delegation at the Economic Affairs and Sustainable Development Committee meeting includes MP Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, Chairman of the Committee; MP Bader Saleh Al Tamimi, MP Abdul Hakim Mohammed Al Shino, Dr. Jamila Mohammed Redha Al Salman, Chairperson of the Services Committee of the Shura Council, Dr. Abdul Aziz Hassan Abul, and Dr. Hani Ali Al Saati, both members of the Shura Council.
Key committees and meetings of the APA include the Standing Committee on Political Affairs, the Economic Affairs and Sustainable Development Committee, the Committee on Social and Cultural Affairs, the Executive Office meeting, and the General Assembly session.
