Bahraini Leadership Engages in Diplomatic and Development Initiatives

Manama: Bahraini daily newspapers today focused on events that happened over the past 24 hours. These events highlight the active engagement of the Bahraini leadership in diplomatic and national development initiatives.

According to Bahrain News Agency, HM King received a call from the Egyptian President and the UAE National Media Office Chairman. HM King, along with HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, also received cables of congratulations from senior members of the royal family and officials. Furthermore, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister met with the newly appointed Commander of the UK Maritime Component Command ME.

The day's events also saw HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad inaugurating a paediatric haematology and oncology unit at the Royal Medical Services. In addition, he issued edicts appointing new boards for BREEF, the Bahrain Shooting Federation, and the Bahrain Golf Association.

In the realm of international relations, the Foreign Minister received ambassadors from Italy and Serbia, while the Finance Minister held a meeting with the Italian Ambassador. The Information Minister also engaged with the UAE's National Media Office Chief.

The Health Ministry launched a national genome test request service on the eGovernment portal, while the Oil Minister inaugurated a sustainable water awareness exhibition and the BBTC MENA conference. The Labour Ministry completed the registration of Khatwa beneficiaries for unemployment allowance.

In other developments, the Central Bank of Bahrain announced the final batch of silver commemorative coins marking HM King's Silver Jubilee. The Tender Board received CIPS procurement ethics accreditation for the fourth consecutive year. Meanwhile, Road 201 in Sitra was fully closed with traffic diverted to the new Sitra Housing City as BAC initiated the 2025 runway maintenance plan.

The National Council for Arts discussed initiatives to advance the arts sector, and the Muslim Council of Elders marked the International Day of Human Fraternity. Additionally, 14 Bahraini companies participated in the LEAP 2025 Technology event.
