Bahraini Fashion Designers Embark on Tamkeen-Backed Training Programme with ESMOD Dubai

Manama: 30 Bahraini fashion designers have joined an integrated fashion design training programme launched by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) in collaboration with +973 Artisanat Creative Entrepreneurs Incubator and delivered by the French Fashion Institute ESMOD Dubai.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of Tamkeen, met with Dr. Shaikha May bint Sulaiman Mohamed Al Otaibi, Founder of +973 Artisanat Creative Entrepreneurs Incubator, and the programme participants to review its progress and assess its impact. The meeting allowed designers to share their experiences, with many highlighting the value of the first phase and expressing anticipation for the next stage, which will focus on brand development and market entry.

This initiative is part of Tamkeen's ongoing efforts to support the Creative Industries sector, with fashion emerging as a key area of growth. The 19-month programme equips Bahraini designers with essential skills through a series of workshops covering fashion design, pattern making, and fashion marketing, followed by mentorship for the top 15 candidates to help them refine their concepts and launch their brands.

Dr. Shaikha May bint Sulaiman commended the talent of Bahraini designers participating in the programme. "We are honoured by Tamkeen's trust in delivering this initiative and proud of the designers' achievements, which reflect the depth of talent in Bahrain," she noted. "This programme offers participants hands-on training from industry experts, providing them with the specialised skills needed to establish their own fashion businesses."

The French Fashion Institute ESMOD Dubai is part of the ESMOD International Fashion Schools network, renowned for its excellence in fashion education. With a presence in fashion capitals such as Paris, Tokyo, and Dubai, the institute has trained thousands of designers over the past 184 years.
