Manama: A telephone call took place between Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahraini Foreign Minister, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the State of Qatar. During the call, the two sides discussed the strong fraternal relations between the two countries, the developments in the current regional situation, and the regional and international efforts aimed at reducing escalation and promoting efforts to enhance regional security and stability.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the conversation also focused on reopening the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic and ensuring the safety and security of navigation without obstacles. This discussion aligns with compliance to the provisions of international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, highlighting the commitment of both nations to uphold international maritime standards. Additionally, the ministers exchanged views on issues of common interest, underscoring the cooperative spirit between Bahrain and Qatar.
