Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the decision adopted by the International Maritime Organization condemning Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz, its threats against vessels, its attacks on the Gulf Cooperation Council states and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as well as its threats to lay mines and impose fees on ships transiting the Strait.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended the role of the United Arab Emirates in preparing this decision, which affirmed the right of transit passage through the Strait. Furthermore, it reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain's call on the international community to continue cooperation and coordination to safeguard freedom of international navigation and prevent any future violations, as a fundamental pillar of international peace and security.
