Bahrain welcomes extended Black Sea grain export deal

The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the extension of the Back Sea grain export deal from Ukrainian ports for an additional four months.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the deal represents an important step which would facilitate the transportation of grain from the Russian Federation and Ukraine across the Black Sea and supply countries that are affected by the shortage of grain and food.

The ministry appreciated the response of the Russian Federation and Ukraine to the calls of the international community, noting the efforts made by the United Nations and the Republic of Turkey to extend the agreement.

In a statement, it said that Bahrain looks forward for both parties to accept direct negotiations without preconditions to reach a cessation of war and a peaceful settlement of the conflict in order to preserve security and stability in the European continent and the world.
