Bahrain Triumphs at 6th GCC Digital Government Awards in Kuwait

Kuwait city: The Kingdom of Bahrain achieved significant success at the 6th GCC Digital Government Awards, held in Kuwait in cooperation with the GCC General Secretariat. The Information and eGovernment Authority's (iGA) National eParticipation Platform (bahrain.bh/sharekna) secured first place in the Best Practice in Community eParticipation category. Additionally, the MyGov app received the Recognition Award in the Best Unified Government App category. The National Cyber Security Centre's (NCSC) Cyber Guardian Game also earned first place in the Best Educational Digital Game category at the GCC level.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the iGA, expressed pride in this achievement, highlighting the recognition of the National eParticipation Platform and the MyGov app as a testament to Bahrain's digital excellence under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Al Qaed emphasized that these accomplishments align with the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhance digital innovation and service efficiency for citizens and residents.

Al Qaed extended his congratulations to General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT), acknowledging the committee's role in advancing Bahrain's digital transformation and integrating advanced technologies into government initiatives. He also congratulated Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chief Executive of the National Cyber Security Centre, on the Cyber Guardian Game's success in raising cybersecurity awareness.

Al Qaed highlighted the National eParticipation Platform's contribution to fostering community engagement by allowing citizens and residents to partake in decision-making processes and influence the development of digital services and national projects. He noted that the MyGov app marks a substantial advancement in unified eService delivery by offering an integrated platform for accessing government services.

Al Qaed praised the iGA team's commitment to excellence in developing these projects, underscoring their role in bolstering Bahrain's standing as a regional leader in digital governance. He remarked that the GCC Digital Government Award celebrates Gulf achievements, promotes best practices in eService delivery, and advances the GCC ICT sector both regionally and globally.
