Bahrain Team Opens Participation Against Qatar in Arab Men’s National Basketball Championship

Manama: The draw for the 26th Arab Men's Basketball Championship, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain from July 25 to August 2, has set up exciting matches. Bahrain will start against Qatar on Friday, July 25 at 8pm at Khalifa Sports City.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Mohammed Ahmed, Championship Director, stated there will be three matches each day, with rest days for all teams on Monday, July 28 and Thursday, July 31. He added that Bahrain will play all its matches at 8pm.

Bahrain's second match is against the United Arab Emirates on Saturday, July 26, followed by Tunisia on Sunday, July 27, Egypt on Tuesday, July 29, Algeria on Friday, August 1, and finishing against Kuwait on Saturday, August 2.

All seven teams will face each other once, with the team finishing top crowned champion. This is the first time the Kingdom has hosted the championship since it began in 1974.

The Director noted that Arab teams will start arriving in Bahrain from Tuesday, including Arab Basketball Confederation officials headed by Secretary-General Major General Abdullah Shalaby. Other teams and committee members will arrive afterwards.

He added that all logistics have been completed to welcome guests and commended the efforts to ensure an exceptional event, reflecting Bahrain's standing in hosting major Arab championships.
