Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2025 to Commence on April 15

Manama: The eighth edition of the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2025 will begin on Tuesday, April 15, under the patronage of Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister. The two-day summit will take place at the Sheraton Hotel on April 15 and 16.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, highlighted the summit as a key event in the Kingdom of Bahrain's calendar, attracting both local and international interest. The event aims to blend global expertise with Bahrain's local experiences in smart urban development.

The summit will feature panel sessions examining international models applicable to sustainable smart cities and artificial intelligence. It serves as a regional platform that combines a high-level conference, an interactive technology exhibition, and an awards ceremony to honor achievements in urban innovation and sustainability.

Nine government entities from Bahrain, including various ministries and authorities, are participating, showcasing the government's commitment to digital and environmental transformation. The summit will also include participants from regional countries and organizations, promoting regional cooperation in smart urban planning.

The agenda includes over twenty topics related to smart cities, such as AI, IoT, cybersecurity, fintech, smart construction, and mobility. Discussions will also cover heritage preservation and international case studies like sustainable afforestation and smart irrigation from Oman. Bahrain's National Real Estate DataBank will be presented as a national model for real estate data integration.

The accompanying exhibition will feature over 15 exhibitors, including government bodies, companies, and start-ups, showcasing smart solutions in various fields. Visitors can engage with project owners and explore future applications in smart cities.

During the opening ceremony, the winners of the fifth Bahrain Smart Cities Awards will be announced. The awards recognize initiatives in areas like AI, IoT, waste management, fintech, renewable energy, and integrated cross-sector projects.
