Bahrain Showcases Youth Empowerment Initiatives at IPU Seminar

Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain's parliamentary delegation participated in a remote seminar organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) titled "Engaging Youth in Democracy: Empowering the Next Generation."

According to Bahrain News Agency, the seminar was part of a series linked to the 2022 IPU-UNDP report on public engagement in parliamentary work. It explored means to enhance transparency, accountability, and responsiveness. The delegation highlighted Bahrain's progress in youth empowerment under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, emphasizing legislative reforms that encourage youth participation in democratic processes and parliamentary work in line with international best practices.

The delegation underscored Bahrain's commitment to youth as a key driver of national development, led by HM the King's vision. It also noted the importance of political empowerment in shaping new perspectives, adapting to emerging challenges, and promoting inclusive governance.

Additionally, the delegation highlighted Bahrain's success in youth engagement, supported by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS). His initiatives have strengthened national efforts to advance the youth sector.
