Singapore: Bahrain's Ambassador Dr. Mohammed Abdulrahman Al Haidan, Chief of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, recently participated in the second Chief Legal Advisors Forum in Singapore, which saw participation from around 39 countries worldwide.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Ambassador Al Haidan emphasized Bahrain's expertise in resolving investment disputes and its sophisticated legal mechanisms blending amicable settlements with international arbitration. He noted Bahrain's success in creating a transparent investment environment governed by the rule of law, establishing the Kingdom as a regional model in managing investment disputes and protecting the rights of investors and states alike.
The forum sessions explored contemporary strategies for addressing challenges faced by states in disputes with investors. Discussions included proposed reforms to investor-State dispute settlement mechanisms, such as the creation of a Multilateral Investment Court.
