Paris: Bahrain participated in the Arab Week held at the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) headquarters in Paris on November 4-5. The event was organised by the Arab Group at UNESCO, chaired by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia initiating the gathering. According to Bahrain News Agency, the event featured 22 Arab pavilions, where each country showcased its cultural heritage, traditions, history, and facets of its civilisation. The Arab Week also aimed to enhance intercultural dialogue. As part of the initiative, seminars covered topics such as the Arabic language, calligraphy, literature, artificial intelligence, arts, and intangible cultural heritage, accompanied by academic sessions with experts and specialists. Bahrain's pavilion highlighted various aspects of its intangible cultural heritage, acquainting international visitors with the richness of its culture and its historical role as a cultural hub. This initiative aims to foster intercultural dialogue, raise awareness of Arab cultural heritage, and strengthen cooperation between Arab states and UNESCO in cultural domains. Furthermore, the event seeks to encourage new partnerships and launch collaborative initiatives contributing to the sustainability of Arab Week as a platform for cultural exchange and dialogue. The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) organised Bahrain's participation in coordination with the Bahraini Embassy in France and Bahrain's Permanent Delegation to UNESCO.
