Bahrain: Bahrain's national judo team claimed third place and the bronze medal in the Kata competition of the Arab Judo Championship, held in Jordan. The championship witnessed the participation of 450 male and female athletes representing 17 Arab nations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the team, comprising Abdullah Al Kuwari and Moayed Al Doseri, earned third place following a strong performance in a highly competitive Kata contest, which featured athletes delivering impressive technical displays. The Qatari team secured first place, while the Kuwaiti team came second.
Faisal Khalid Kanoo, President of the Bahrain Judo Federation, highlighted the result achieved by the national team in what marked its first external participation in Kata competitions. He commended the technical level demonstrated by the athletes, noting that this achievement adds to the growing record of accomplishments by the national team in support of the Kingdom of Bahrain's sporting profile.
Kanoo added that the Bahrain Judo Federation remains committed to further advancing the sport, aiming to build on these successes and contribute to the Kingdom's progress in combat sports. He highlighted the support provided to the sports sector under the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
He also commended the continued oversight by His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Combat Sports Council, whose efforts have raised the standard of national sports federations and helped athletes achieve results that strengthen Bahrain's position on the continental and international sports map.
